14 Day Detox
It’s been a while since my last post. Unless you’ve been living in a cave prebuilt to protect you from the
pandemic and shadow you from all of the current racial issues that have faced this world lately, you
probably are right with me. Lately, I’ve been somewhere stuck in the middle of silent shock and wanting
to join in on every protest across the country. While I realize consistency is critical in all that we do, in
all honesty, it has been quite challenging to focus on writing the way I initially anticipated. I find myself
questioning where to pick back up?
Well...first things first. When the pandemic began, I am sure you will agree with me that it was a huge
adjustment and still is. Feelings of extreme caution, curiosity, germaphobia, and concern all filled my
mind. And I am sure you can relate to remembering your mask before leaving the house, deciding when
gloves are needed or if you should spray your packages? Should I wipe down my groceries? Can I go
outside for a run without my mask? How long will I have to homeschool? Another Zoom meeting? And
this list goes on.
During the second week, I decided to finally commit to a 14-day detox, and this is what happened and
what I learned. First, NO, I did not starve myself for 14 days, but I did forgo solid food. This 14-day
detox is fully supported with daily supplement drops and coconut water, but that’s about it. My diet has
been plant-based, healthy for the last 2 years. I also did a series of blood work with my family physician
before starting the detox.
Okay. So enough explaining…I did it, and I have NO regrets. Here are 10 things I learned from doing the
14-day Detox through thedetoxnow.com.
The body can function entirely without continuous consumption of food. WE often overeat
anyway.
Detoxing is good for both prevention and cure.
It is necessary to fast and give your digestive system a rest.
Detoxing and fasting are more than just NOT eating. It includes resting your mind, detoxing
negativity from your life. It's more mental than anything.
Resting is also crucial while detoxing for long periods. I was in bed by 9:00 pm, and up by at
least 6:30 am, meditating with “renewed” energy.
You will feel better in the latter days. The first few days are tough as you try to "wrap your
brain" around not eating, but it is all good
You will completely change your mind about the types of food you consumed before the detox
and what you eat moving forward.
You will want to eat much less and appreciate good, healthy food.
Detoxing and fasting help with disease prevention.
It’s WORTH IT….the benefits include clearing your digestive tract, skin becomes more
transparent and vibrant, energy is NEXT level.
If you are considering doing any type of detox, just know it is more than not eating and consider fully
committing yourself, and you will feel the results. Also, understand that this is not an easy process, and
you should take things day by day. Have any of you ever done a detox or fasting? I have gone back to
intermittent fasting, and it has been very beneficial to me.
