Why I Started Back Blogging?
It’s the self-care for me when it comes to writing. Before I even owned a laptop, I would have tons of
magazine subscriptions and pages of written stories and essays. In school when it when time to write a
paper I loved every moment of it. I have started a few blogs over the years, but I did not truly realize
how much writing was a form of therapy for me until I stopped blogging and writing and then took a
class at Gotham writing.
I was putting everything first in life from being a mom, helping and supporting family members, and
focusing on being my very best at my day job. At the time I honestly did not notice how much I was
neglecting my passion. I think we as women just get caught up in the day-to-day duties that we
sometimes feel obligated or guilty for putting the things we love to do at the top of the list as well. Well,
I am here to urge you to please find at least two to three things you love doing and make time for them.
Like I said, it’s the self-care for me. I enjoy using writing to uplift, share, and motivate women.
I challenge each of you as the new year has begun to try and set aside some time to indulge in
something you are passionate about without feeling guilty.
